Key Innovation Case of 2019

Perhaps the most important case affecting innovation of 2019, the US Supreme Court will review the intersection of copyright and patent law in Google v. Oracle. The heart of the issue is whether Oracle is entitled to copyright protection of its Java API programming interface which are key tools in modern app development. Google argues that Oracle should have applied for patent protection instead.
